Performance

At its heart, the Toyota Camry features a 2.5L four-cylinder hybrid engine with an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission that delivers up to 232 horsepower. Front-wheel drive is standard, but it can be upgraded to an electronic, on-demand all-wheel drive system for driving around Wappingers Falls. The hybrid engine works seamlessly to boost fuel efficiency without needing a plug. The EPA estimates that the combined fuel economy ranges between 44 and 51 MPG, depending on the trim.

Interior Design

The Toyota Camry features dual-zone automatic climate control, air filters, and the option for heated front seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The comfortable fabric upholstery is paired with a six-way manual passenger and driver seat. The maximum trunk capacity is 15.1 cubic feet.

Trim Levels

The new ninth generation is available in four distinct trims.

• The LE trim is the most affordable and basic option.
• The SE trim features a rear spoiler, dual chrome exhaust tips, black mesh front grille, aluminum sports pedals, 18-inch black-finished alloy wheels, SofTex upholstery, and leather-trimmed shift knob and steering wheel with paddle shifters. The driver's seat is eight-way power adjustable with lumbar support. An auto-dimming rearview mirror is optional for Middletown and New Windsor, NY drivers.
• The XLE trim adds a leather-trimmed and heated steering wheel, smart key system, white ambient LED interior lighting, heated front seats, rear adjustable headrests, a larger 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and multimedia system, a combined leather/microfiber upholstery, enhanced headlights and tail lights, exclusive chrome-finished window trim, and 18-inch two-tone multi-spoke machined and black-finished wheels. The auto-dimming rearview mirror is integrated with a backup camera and HomeLink transceiver. Optional features include rain-sensing windshield wipers, ventilated front seats, a digital key system, nine-speaker JBL audio, a 10-inch head-up display, and a two-position memory function on the driver's seat. Additional safety features such as a panoramic view monitor, traffic jam assist, and front cross-traffic alert are available in a package. The leather gear shift and aluminum sport pedals are not included.
• The XSE trim adds full leather upholstery, sport mesh front grille, and 19-inch smoked gray and black-finished alloy wheels. The leather gear shift and aluminum sport pedals are both added back.
